Creating a cast of a Rubber Duck

Adapting a box, so I don't have to saw the cast before splitting it this is my first attempt at this kind of 2 piece cast that is created in one pour and split once set but before dry.


The duck has been glue gunned to an adapted sauce container to create its pouring hole on the bottom.


Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) has been used to coat the duck and box so it more easily comes out of the cast.


Boral Potters Plaster was used as per the ratios on the packet 5 parts plaster added to 3.25 parts water.


a Brick splitter was used to halve the cast


Mini Bungee cables to hold the cast together (25cm x 4)
